Great Wall.

 

This was a grueling 5 hour, 12km hike on the Wall from Jinshanling to Sinatai (this is the 'easy' section) about 110km north east of Beijing. The wall at Sinatai is 19km and is really quite difficult (a number of people die there every year). We did not attempt it. You can see the Sintai section in a distance on some of the later shots (48 and 49). The great thing was the absence of tourists, making this place a million times nicer than Badaling, although there were some annoying postcard hawks who followed us for miles along the wall, before giving up.
